School’s out for summer…
and we’re betting that you aren’t really feeling in the holiday spirit. We’re pretty sure that rather than excitement you’re feeling a sense of impending doom – six weeks – how are you going to manage that?
Let us set the scene…
‘Daddy, you know it’s the school holidays? Well I just can’t wait to spend more time with you. We’re going to have so much fun.’
‘But princess, Daddy still has to work; I don’t get school holidays anymore.’
‘OK Daddy… I’ll miss you… Mummy and I will take lots of pictures to show you… it won’t be the same without you though…’
We’re not finished.
Ever found yourself having this conversation?
‘Muuuuum, why are you walking me up it’s the school holidays… I just want a pyjama day.’
‘You know I have to work today, the bills don’t pay themselves. You’re going to holiday club at school.’
‘What! School in the holidays! No way! That’s so unfair! You totally don’t get it.’
Feeling guilty yet?
School holidays are hard for working parents. No-one wants to disappoint their children but how are you supposed to get everything done at work if you keep taking time off? The business won’t run itself. Children wait endlessly for the school holidays, it’s their idea of social heaven, and even on their grumpy days they want to spend time with Mum and Dad, but for working parents school holidays scream added burden and responsibility.
That’s where we come in. Outsource your workload to us and let us destress what should be the best six weeks of your year. Taking a break won’t only benefit your kids (and we can hear their cheers and mischievous plans for den building, early morning wake-up calls and parent burying in the sand already). A few days, weeks or months off work will recharge, inspire and rejuvenate you. You know that feeling you get after a long day at the spa… well you’re not going to get that (remember the kids), but what you will have is a warm fuzzy feeling from the wonderful memories you’ve created with your children, an extremely messy house and car from all the adventures you’ve had together and most importantly a reminder of the very reason you likely started your own business in the first place – to spend more time with your family!
You’ll also look upon life with a fresh set of eyes. Money is great; we can’t live without it, but time trumps money any day. I bet it doesn’t seem like that long ago that you were that excited child dreaming of endless days off school and planning your next escapade. Life has a nasty habit of passing us by; don’t let that happen to you.
Reconnecting with yourself, your family, your friends and your sense of adventure will allow you to better connect with your work again when the holidays are over. The best thing about Farrens is our flexibility. You can hire us for a day, a week or even a month. Let us take care of your business responsibilities while you attend to your personal responsibilities. Play with your children, take them places, give them your undivided attention and listen to them. Make this your best summer yet, safe in the knowledge that we’ve got this! This is what we were trained to do. And we do it well.
